Vanessa Mayer, M. Ed. is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has been practicing in Lynchburg at Blue Ridge Therapy Associates since 2009. She received a Master of Education in Communication Disorders in 2008 from the University of Virginia and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology also majoring in French Language & Literature and minoring in Biology. She is bilingual in French and English. Vanessa is a certified member of American Speech- Language- Hearing Association (ASHA). She has received Awards for Continuing Education (ACE) from ASHA. She has had the opportunity to work with both children and adults and has considerable experience in a variety of areas of speech and language disorders for both children and adults including: apraxia, articulation, phonology, dysarthria, aphasia, TBI, cognitive language and memory deficits, symbolic dysfunction, voice, fluency, dysphagia, augmentative and alternative communication, autism spectrum disorders, auditory processing and receptive and expressive language disorders.
